Here are some of the most FAQ that might help you to decide what's best for you and your kaupapa;

 

Where are you and can I visit?

Our Poi are handcrafted by our Māori Kuia and her whānau in West Auckland, Aotearoa, NZ. You’re welcome to visit our home-based store for walk-in purchases — just follow the signage up the side entrance, park on the road (our driveway is tricky and busy), and ring the doorbell if the shop doors are closed during business hours.

Click & Collect is also available at 52 Swanson Road, Henderson. Simply park on the road, follow the signage up the right-hand side to the NZ Poi Shop sign, and we’ll have your order ready.

What are Poi balls or Foam balls?

We’re proud to be the world’s first producer and supplier of Poi foam.
Traditionally, you’d have to visit a local foam supplier, purchase foam squares, and then tackle the tricky job of cutting them into spheres. This process often results in wasted material and poi balls that vary in shape and size.

We knew there had to be a better way — so we searched far and wide to develop perfectly shaped foam spheres.
This innovation is a game-changer for Kapa Haka groups and schools, helping save time, reduce waste, and ensure consistent poi for performances.

How can I place a bulk order of Poi?

We love helping spread the joy of Poi! To get started, it’s helpful to ask yourself:

A) What’s your budget and kaupapa?
Knowing your budget lets us create a custom package that fits your needs.

B) Do you need a quote for funding approval?
We can send one quickly so you can submit it to your board, school, or group.

Do you have Poi in stock?

Yes, we do! However, we are able to whip up a pair with no sweat. So we can ship your Poi within 1-2 business days of receiving your order.

Will we get a notification once our order is on the way?

Yes! All of our poi orders are tracked and shipped within 1-2 business days from us receiving your online order. 

Do you have International shipping available?

Yes, we do! However, if your country isn't showing up at the shipping address stage please email us so we can check our settings to make sure that you can complete your purchase.

Why have I received an email regarding a Postage Cost Adjustment?

Due to fluctuating rates, we reserve the right to request additional payment to cover increased shipping costs, more particularly around RURAL & INTERNATIONAL postage.

My Poi look slightly different to the ones in the product picture?

Every bundle of wool will vary slightly in colour based on each batch we receive from our supplier. However, we will stick to the same colours and designs no matter what, it may be that the colour could be slightly lighter or darker than the one that was taken during the product photography.
